Solo travelers are warmly welcome. Unfortunately, costs may sometimes be higher if they are not shared. Our prices are also based on double occupancy. Our itineraries are extensive without specified prices. Share your budget preferences, and we will take them into account.

This serves as a glimpse into what a 10-day highlight trip with a touch of wabi-sabi in Japan might entail.​ Experience a captivating 10-day journey across Japan, exploring the key attractions of Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and the artistic haven of Naoshima.

Fly into either of Tokyo’s airports, Narita (NRT) or Haneda (HND). This sample itinerary can also be customized to begin in the Kansai region (where Kyoto and Osaka are located), flying into either of Osaka’s two major airports, Kansai (KIX) or Itami (ITM).

Depart from either of Tokyo’s airports, or customize this trip to end with departure from Osaka or elsewhere in Japan.​ You stay in Japanese boutique hotels or local (but luxurious) ryokans and venture off the beaten path in major cities. You cycle, cover part of route by shinkansen (train), and meet many locals.

Day 1
Tokyo
Arriving in Tokyo on the first day, jetlagged and bleary-eyed, the vibrant chaos of the cityscape felt like a surreal dream, a blend of neon lights, bustling streets, and the distant hum of an unfamiliar yet enticing rhythm.


Day 2
Tokyo
It is your first full day in Tokyo and with a guided half-day tour, exploring vibrant neighborhoods and tranquil gems, led by an expert guide. In the evening dive into a local izakaya where Tokyo's culinary spirit comes alive with flavourful dishes and a lively atmosphere.


Day 3
Tokyo - Hands-On Sushi Workshop and Explore Historic Tokyo.
Embark on a morning sushi-making journey with a seasoned sushi chef, crafting Edo-style sushi at their authentic sushi-ya. After savoring the fruits of your labor with a delectable homemade sushi lunch, delve into Tokyo's historic shitamachi districts, exploring the preserved charm of Yanaka, the cultural richness of Ueno, and the hidden gems of Asakusa, all expertly guided by your local connoisseur.


Day 4
Hakone
Start your day with a visit to the beautiful Enoura Observatory in Odawara before heading to Hakone. Stay at a ryokan nestled in the tranquil hills, where you can experience a mix of traditional Japanese hospitality and modern comfort. Enjoy well-designed tatami rooms, relaxing onsen baths, and delicious kaiseki dining, all surrounded by Hakone's stunning natural scenery.


Day 5
Hakone
Discover the beauty of Hakone on a day of hiking with scenic trails showcasing nature's wonders and stunning views of Mount Fuji. Conclude your adventure with a visit to the Hakone Open Air Museum, where art and nature come together for a visually delightful experience.


Day 6
Kyoto
Travel seamless through Japan from Odawara to Kyoto station with the renowned shinkansen and within 2 hours you can immerse yourself in the traditional charm of Kyoto, considered the heart and soul of Japan.


Day 7
Kyoto
Stroll along the enchanting Philosopher's Path in Kyoto, a picturesque canal-lined walkway adorned with hundreds of cherry blossom trees, creating a breathtaking tunnel of blossoms during spring. Take in the captivating views of traditional tea houses and temples that line this iconic route, making it a perfect day-long exploration of Kyoto's timeless beauty.


Day 8
Naoshima
Experience the allure of Naoshima, a petite island in the Seto Inland Sea celebrated for its seamless integration of contemporary art amidst picturesque landscapes. Delight in the captivating art installations that gracefully coalesce with the island's natural beauty, forming an harmony of artistic expression.


Day 9
Naoshima / Teshima
Spend a day trip by ferry soaking up the charm of Teshima, a cool island in the Seto Inland Sea famous for its artsy vibes and laid-back atmosphere. Hop on an electric bike and check out the stunning Teshima Art Museum, where nature and architecture come together, and don't miss exploring the island's cute villages and scenic spots by the sea.


Day 10
Final supper at Sushi Bar
Head back to Osaka with a memorable sushi meal before going to your home destination. Enjoy the flavours of your last meal in this vibrant city as you bid farewell to Japan. Prepare for your journey home and receive a traditional bow from the ground crew, who wave goodbye to every departure plane and passenger they worked with.
